Treadmill Mat and Among Other Things

February 3, 2010

A rubber treadmill mat is probably the best investment you could make toward your treadmill except maybe for the warranty coverage. Other accessories are available as well and while they will also save you money and headache in the future, it still doesn’t compare to the treadmill mat which just protects your treadmill from essentially falling apart. It keeps the vibration generated when the treadmill is in use from reverberating off the floor and back into the body of the treadmill which will wear heavily on the frame of the machine.

The other things that you could buy for your treadmill include a home repair kit, a cleaning kit, lubrication, and a treadmill cover. The home repair kit allows you to make minor repairs which saves time and money by avoiding extra trips to the repair shop something minor pops up. Major problems will still require the attention of a professional but hopefully these are much more rare. A cleaning kit comes with instructions on basic cleaning procedures as well as the solution and tools required to perform them. This helps prevent problems by keeping the moving parts of the treadmill clean and clear of clutter caused by the accumulation of junk.

The treadmill cover is similar to a treadmill mat except it serves to keep dust and other things in the air from settling on your treadmill while it is not in use. The lubrication is an important part of keeping your treadmill in tip top shape because it protects the motor in so many ways. The motor of the treadmill is really the most important part since it keeps everything running and will be very expensive to repair. In some cases it is the high cost of fixing the motor that makes a treadmill a junk machine meaning the cost of repairs are higher than the worth of the machine.
