Master Cleanse to Lose Weight
A master cleansing diet consists of ten days or more where no solid food is consumed. Instead the body is cleansed by drinking a combination of freshly squeezed lemons, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper. Proponents claim that this doesn’t just result in weight loss, but also cleanses the body and removes cravings for alcohol, tobacco, coffee, and excessive eating.
Losing Weight
If you go on a master cleanse, you will certainly lose weight, since your intake of calories will be severely restricted. What’s more, some claim that the master cleanse have some properties in common with fat burners, mainly an ability to suppress appetite and remove the cravings for sweets.
What You Need to be Aware of
Being on a master cleanse for too long can be dangerous. You are not getting all the nutrients your body requires, so it should only be a temporary thing.
When going back to eating solid food, you need to be careful of how many calories you consume. There is a very real risk that you will gain back the weight you lost, so tread carefully.
Furthermore, when you lose weight by cleansing, some of the weight lost will be muscle, since you are not getting enough protein. If you go back and forth between cleansing putting on the weight again, you will actually reduce your muscle mass, and when you are at the same weight, you will be fatter. It follows that not gaining back the weight you lost, except if it is muscle mass by exercising, is paramount.
Detoxifying and Losing Weight
If you want to not only lose weight, but also cleanse your body, a master cleanse might be for you. It is, however, not the most efficient option if you are only looking to lose weight.
The cleanse grew in popularity after singer and actress Beyonce reportedly lost 20 pounds doing it, but even she said that there are other ways to lose weight, if you are not interested in the cleanse.

Weight loss tips for long lasting results
One of the characteristics of most weight loss tips available today is that they target short term results and do not provide advice for long lasting results. You will see things like ‘lose weight in 10 days’ or ‘get fit today’ but they do not explain what you have to do in order to maintain your normal weight for ever. A successful weight loss program and plan must target ways on how to lose weight and keep it off. In this post you can find weight loss tips that will help you lose weight but also maintain your weight in the long run.
1. Keep away from fast methods to lose weight. There are many ways to lose weight quickly. These include weight loss pills, crash diets, food supplements and other non-natural products. The major problem of all these is that they may help you lose a few pounds in the beginning but as soon as you stop their use you gain the weight back and probably some more. This is bad for your overall health as these sudden fluctuations in weight may cause other more serious health problems.
2. When you lose weight do it slowly and gradually. A healthy amount of weight to lose per week is no more than 2 pounds. Anything above that is not recommended. Better spend 6 months to lose 10 pounds and be able to keep them off than losing them in 2 weeks and then gaining them back in a month. Always consider the long term results and how much weight you want to lose 6 months or a year from now. Do not think in terms of weeks or days.
3. Do not exclude any food groups from your daily diet. By excluding certain food groups from your diet you will not achieve long term results. There are two main reasons for that. First for a balanced diet and healthy organism you have to provide your body with vitamins and nutrients from all the food groups, second if you are eating the same type of foods all the time you will get bored and quit your efforts. A balanced diet that will help you lose weight is one that includes all food types in moderate quantities. The secret of a healthy weight loss is not the exclusion of food but the quantities of food consumed.
4. To maintain your weight for a long time you need to exercise. Through exercise you assist your body gets rid of the extra calories. There is no other way to accelerate and increase the calorie burning process. Exercise can help you maintain your weight and also improve your metabolism.

Can I lose weight by fasting?
This is a question asked by people who are looking for way on how to lose weight fast. They believe that by fasting they will be able to lose weight faster. Unfortunately though this is not the correct or safe way to lose weight and we will try to explain below why.
First of all fasting is not a process or way to lose weight but it’s a procedure that is part of certain religious and this is totally understandable and acceptable. People may enter a period of fasting because they want to and because it is part of their religion and not because they want to lose weight fast.
The main reasons why fasting is not a correct way to lose weight is:
1. Through fasting you do not provide your body and organism all the necessary substances and nutrients that it needs for proper and healthy functioning.
2. Extended fasting will make you tired and give your body a strong sense of fatigue.
3. Fasting has a negative impact to your metabolism. When you fast the organism take measures to protect the body from hunger and this slows down the weight loss process. In other words it is much harder to lose weight when your metabolism is slow and it make take a lot of effort and time later to speed up your metabolism.
4. During fasting you reduce or minimize physical activities or exercise and this reduces metabolism. The weakness that fasting is causing to your body does not leave you with energy to exercise in order to stay fit and accelerate your weight loss.
5. When fasting for long period the body will first get rid of water weight and then will start utilizing the muscle tissues. The fat tissues are the last to be used. This as a result eliminates the muscle tissues which are vital for weight loss and maintains more fat which is a major problem when you want to lose weight.
To sum up, long-term fasting is certainly not a good choice for losing weight. Fasting for a couple of days per month can help but the most effective way to lose weight is through a balanced diet and exercise. Extreme measures never work for weight loss and cannot give you the long term results you want.
