Men undergo cosmetic surgery as well

Not many years ago there were only women undergoing cosmetic surgery. Nose and breast jobs have been done in the hundreds of thousands each year by females, but now men are following after. The most popular cosmetic surgery for men is the nose job, or Rhinoplasty as it is called in medical terms. But, there are many other procedures that have men submitting to the knife.

The reasons for undergoing surgery are usually the same for both women and men. They want to be more beautiful, fix things with their bodies that they don’t like, and hopefully increase their self-esteem and confidence. “Imperfections” like a crooked nose, slouching eyelids or eyebrows, excessive fat, are all things that can be “fixed” with cosmetic surgery. Some of these procedures are done very quick and require little time to recover and heal, while surgery such as a liposuction are best served by some down time after completion.

Cosmetic surgery prices for men vary and depend on your location, the amount of work that is to be performed, and of course what type of surgery you are undergoing. As new methods and techniques are developed, both prices and recovery time is decreasing. An operation to fix slouching eyebrows, as an example, would previously require a full face lift. Today you can undergo an endoscopic brow lift, which is minimally invasive, and have little or no down time when you are finished.

Generally, prices for these procedures range from $100 for the simplest Botox injection, to $12.000 for larger nose reshaping surgery. Most of these procedures are not covered by Medicare, as long as they are aesthetical procedures. If you however have medical reasons for your surgery, such as not being able to sleep properly because of a nose defect, then you should check what kind of coverage is available.

The Advantages of Liposuction

If you are considering liposuction as a way to eliminate those hard to remove fatty deposits, you may still be on the fence as to whether this procedure is right for you.  Therefore, to assist in your decision, this article is going to focus on a few advantages of undergoing Liposuction.

The first advantage is that it will dramatically improve your appearance while providing a more contoured look.  Due to the different kinds of liposuction techniques available, a cosmetic surgeon can now remove fat deposits from virtually any part of a patient’s body.  What is even more amazing is the fact that the surgeon can remove around ninety percent of the fat.  To top this off, once these fat cells have been removed, they cannot regenerate again.

The second advantage of liposuction is there is very little to no scarring occurring.  This is due to the fact that the tool the surgeon uses to remove the fat deposits, which is called a cannula, is very small.  As a result, the surgeon only has to make a small incision in the patient and these incisions tend to heal quickly and without scarring.

The last benefit of this surgical procedure is the lack of a requirement for general anesthesia.  This is important because many people have suffered horrible complications due to a bad reaction to anesthesia.  During a liposuction, more times than not, the surgeon will only use a local anesthetic on the patient.  Not only does this minimize the possibility of suffering a bad anesthesia reaction, but it also cuts down on the grogginess and nausea experienced by patients undergoing general anesthesia.

As you can see, these are only three benefits of liposuction.  In reality, there are many, many more.  If you are interested in learning more about liposuction, we recommend you visit the Fort Worth Liposuction Guide.

Scarless Tummy Tuck

If you have been performing research on tummy tuck surgery, you may have come across people talking about scarless surgery.  Obviously, if you can undergo a tummy tuck and not have scarring, that would be ideal.  However, that is not necessarily the reality of a scarless tummy tuck.  To find out more, continue reading below.

First, you will often hear many surgeons describe a scarless tummy tuck as a mini tummy tuck (or mini abdominoplasty) or a partial tummy tuck (or partial abdominoplasty).  This is because there is no such thing as a truly scarless tummy tuck.

Now, you may be wondering why someone would call this a scarless cosmetic surgery.  Very simply, this procedure does not produce any visible scarring.  The scarring is hidden in the patient’s bikini line.

The reality is that any form of a tummy tuck will result in scarring.  The severity of the scarring will be determined by the type of tummy tuck performed, as well as how long the patient takes to heal.

As an example, if the surgery patient is a smoker, it can sometimes take between two to three times longer for the incision to heal.  As a result of this longer healing time, the scarring tends to be noticeably more visible.  Therefore, if you are a smoker and you want to minimize the severity of scarring, you may want to quit smoking before undergoing this surgery.

Also, the type of tummy tuck will influence the severity of scarring.  You can expect less scarring with a mini tummy tuck than you could with an extended tummy tuck.

As we have demonstrated, there is unfortunately no such thing as a truly scarless tummy tuck.  While a mini tummy tuck can limit the amount of visible scarring (by hiding it in the bikini line), it will still exist.
