Alcohol – A Major Reason for Being Tired

Is there joy in drinking alcohol? Maybe for some, but alcohol is one reason why tiredness exists. It slowly deteriorates your body functions and uses up valuable energy. Here are three focal points for that:

1. Alcohol holds back alertness centers of neurons in the brain. It can also make you drowsy in small amounts. But, it can bring about anesthesia, respiratory problems, and finally death if taken large amounts.

2. Alcohol can dehydrate you rapidly because of its diuretic nature. Your blood circulation decreases and weakens body functions triggering feelings of disorientation and tiredness. Thinking that alcohol can refill lost body liquids through alcohol is a wrong idea. By diuretic, it means that your body excretes more fluid than you normally do when drinking alcohol.

3. Alcohol makes you secrete large amounts of insulin from the pancreas. Consequently, you become hypoglycemic (too low blood glucose level), which brings unnecessary food cravings and can be a cause of constant tiredness. Most importantly, alcohol is fatal. First, it increases body acidity and promotes digestive disorders. Constant drinking can permanently damage your brain. This happens because brain cells are diminished and ventricles expand. Also, vitamin deprivation comes from drinking too much alcohol and in turn causes damage to a larger extent.

It would be best to totally stop from drinking alcohol, but different social events encourage alcoholic beverages. This is why it’s highly recommended that only drink alcohol on very special occasions and in very small doses.

When going to bed, you might feel like you have no energy – always tired. It’s because sleeping patterns can also be affected by alcohol because of the fact that it makes you vomit after your metabolism catches up at night. You will surely experience shallow and uneven sleep. Waking up would even be harder because of agitation, nervousness, and profuse sweating together with cardiac trembles. Also, sleep is light with many awakenings in particular.

It would be advisable to drink just a glass of wine at nights since it doesn’t have much effect on sleeping. Larger doses, on the other hand, can gravely disturb sleeping patterns. That’s why it’s best to stay clear from drinking too much alcohol during evenings or regulate amounts that you drink. Be aware that this is detrimental to your health so drink moderately and wisely.
