To achieve the goal of using less water and stop wasting water here are some things to check around the home. Are faucets dripping? If so check the washers, change them if needed. This simple action can save up to 20 gallons of water a day. Stop flushing the toilet constantly. Think first every flush utilizes around 5 gallons of water per flush.  Check the shower head and replace it with low flow shower heads, this use less water. Stop taking extended showers, soap up and rinse. Taking shorter showers saves up to ten gallons a minute.

Saving water is simple as a few changes and mentally thinking about water conservation when using it.  Turn the water off when brushing teeth, just wet the toothbrush first and after. Outside the home water is also wasted in many ways. When washing the car, get the car wet and wash then rinse. Stop watering the grass everyday, it does not need it and upwards of a 100 gallons of water are being wasted every minute. Do not spray grass clippings, get the broom or leaf blower and pick them up.

Saving water at home will become a breeze, when everyone in the family is tuned into it.
