Some of the most beautiful types of decorative items that you can put in the family home may also be some of the more functional. In this case we should have a look at the humble little table lamp. A table lamp can be positioned anywhere in the room and is portable enough to be moved as required. In the past these lamps were fairly nondescript consisting of a plain base and a white linen or glass lamp shade but those days are gone and the table lamp has become a vital addition to the way a room is decorated.

It doesn’t really matter what type of a room you have to decorate there will be a table lamp of some sort that will not only provide a valuable source of light but will also complement the existing décor. Sprinkling one or two in each room is a clever way to add detail without overpowering the room.
