You’d be wise not to let your happiness come about by pure luck. It’s not a gift that someone else can give to you, you are the person who is in charge of your happiness, and no one else.
How you feel at any given moment is largely to do with the thoughts you allow to pass through your gray matter. The conversation inside your head, your inner voice, finds its words through the belief that you hold about the world and also about yourself and other people.
If you are feeling down, then it’s this inner voice that you need to change if you want to find happiness in your life . Examine your beliefs and make sure they are based on facts rather than perceptions, and ensure that your beliefs are not holding you back from achieving success or happiness.
If ever you feel you’ve had a bad day, perhaps you feel overwhelmed and anxious, do something to interrupt the negative thought patterns that contribute your happiness.
As soon as you are aware that you feel this way, take some time to replace these negative thoughts with positive and empowering thoughts. Spend just a few minutes talking to someone you love, or someone you admire. Read some inspiring quotes or just look outside your window and watch nature at work.
You don’t need to spend long doing this, all you need to do is break the pattern. Let the moment wash over you little longer and recognize what it was about the experience that you enjoyed.
Now that you’ve done something positive for yourself and you’ve changed your mindset, let it spur you on to seek out other positive experiences during the rest of your day.
Do the best you can to eliminate the negative inner voice, it may take some time but it is possible and it is certainly worthwhile.
Now that you know it is possible to do this, you should try it out. First of all decide to embrace happiness and then take action to make it happen.
