It is many years ago since childrens programs were shown on TV for a few hours a day at most on the few channels that we had as kids. Who would have thought then that there would be so many dedicated childrens channels available for our children to spend hours relaxing in front of. And the programs that are popular with kids these days are not just streamed on TV, they are available as countless DVDs that can be found online, in specialist shops and even in our local supermarkets.Many pre-school programs are thankfully educational in content so provide great learning experiences for our youngsters, but as they grow up, more violence seems to find its way into their programs and cartoons.
Sesame Street is a trusted favourite that has been around for many years. You may have watched it as a youngster and now find yourselves enjoying it all over again with your kids. Lucky for you there are more than 50 DVDs available for you to buy from this long running show including box sets and commemorative special editions. Elmo, the Sesame Street spin off, is another popular choice with kids. This cute, little, red monster offers excitement and a learning experience in each episode, and you can now find more than 20 titles in this series.
Disney, of course, offers various educational shows that you can also purchase on DVD. Think Handy Manny, Special Agent Oso and Mickey’s Playhouse for ways to get your little ones dancing and learning through their interactive episode formats. Other more recent variations include Dora The Explorer and Go Diego Go, where your child can learn about nature with a little bit of Spanish thrown in. The characters in Bob The Builder also radiate positive attitudes and can fix any problems that they come across in their series which is bound to rub off on kids after a while.
If your child loves these programs on TV they are also going to love the DVDs. After watching the episodes over and over again at their and your convenience, you will see you received good value for money.
